On June 20, 2013, Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) held a Town Hall meeting to update staff, physicians and volunteers on the proposed Facilitated Integration Planning Framework that was approved by the RVHS and The Scarborough Hospital Boards at their meetings the day before. This proposal stems from the March 27th Central East Local Health Integration Network (CE LHIN) Board of Directors meeting, at which the Board approved three motions relating to the future of health care delivery in Scarborough. Motion 3 directs The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) to immediately partner with Rouge Valley Health System in a facilitated integration planning process to design and implement a Scarborough cluster hospital services delivery model.
Many good questions were asked by staff at the Town Hall meeting. RVHS President and CEO Rik Ganderton was happy to provide what answers he could based on the available information at the time. We are committed to continuing to communicate with you about this planning process as it progresses.
